Our primary directive at Global News is to report accurate, balanced, timely and comprehensive news and information in the public interest. Despite the pressures of 24-hour news, getting it right is more important than getting it first.
Our stories receive stringent vetting from experienced editors, but sometimes errors slip through. Whether it’s a missing word, spelling mistake or an extra space, we want to hear about it.
What some would describe as small errors may not necessarily change the meaning or context of our reporting, but they are a matter of journalistic discipline and thoroughness.
When you click on ‘Report an Error,’ a form comes up providing visitors with the opportunity to offer a correction or provide additional information and story ideas to enhance our coverage. The feature immediately connects users with the reporters and producers who worked on the story and allows them to make quick corrections.
You can also connect with our journalists through the ‘Contact Me’ form that can be found on their author pages. These new features are not intended as a forum for comments and opinion; we already provide a space for that kind of vigorous discussion at the bottom of the page.
