TORONTO — Canadian artist Deadmau5 is scheduled to perform a free show Feb. 15 in Miami — but he doesn’t seem thrilled about it.
“don’t play show: get f***ed. Play show: get f***ed,” he tweeted late Monday.
A few hours earlier, Deadmau5 tweeted: “I’d love to announce that I’m playing a free show on feb 15th… oh that’s great, let me check my f***in availability? thanks.

According to promoters, tickets for the event at the 4,000-capacity Ice Palace Studios will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis beginning Tuesday at 1:00 p.m.
Deadmau5, whose real name is Joel Zimmerman, vowed never to perform in Miami again after he complained about the crowd at a New Year’s Day show at South Beach club Mansion.
During his show he tweeted: “Lol at the entire front row glued to their f***ing phones. Much party. Many text. Wow.”
In an online chat after the gig, Deadmau5 added: “Putting fans in the back and trust fun kids up front is f***ing stupid as f***.”
Shortly after Deadmau5 made the comments, the owners of Mansion’s sister club Space offered to host a free show and cover his expenses up to $25,000.
“Please give your fans and Miami another opportunity to show you just how great this city is to perform in and how much we love having you here,” the club wrote in an open letter.
The free Deadmau5 show takes place one day after fellow Canadian Justin Bieber’s scheduled arraignment following his Jan. 23 arrest in Miami Beach.
Deadmau5 did a free show at a Toronto club last October to promote the launch of Microsoft’s Surface 2.
