A BC Ferries vessel under retrofit suffered a small fire Monday morning.
Ferries says the fire was caused by welding on the Queen of New Westminster, which is currently tied up at the dock in Tsawwassen.

Ferries employees were able to put out the fire themselves by time the Delta Fire Department arrived.
A couple employees are being assessed for possible smoke inhalation.
No passengers were on board. The extent of the damage is not known.
The Queen of New Westminster was built in 1964 in Victoria and has a capacity of 1,325 passengers.
