When they arrived, firefighters found heavy smoke pouring from the building. Thankfully, the building’s sprinkler system had activated and was preventing the fire from spreading.
Four employees managed to get out of the plant safely, and two were assessed by EMS.
Firefighters extinguished the fire and used mechanical ventilation to clear the smoke.
A large pile of waste materials consisting of wood, papers and plastics was found to be the source of the fire.
