REGINA – Rocker Neil Young takes his anti-oilsands concert to Regina tonight, the third of four stops on a tour aimed at raising money for an Alberta Indian band.
The Athabasca Chipewyan First Nation lives downstream from the oilsands and has filed a lawsuit to try to protect its traditional territory from further industrialization.
Before his show in Winnipeg yesterday, Young criticized the proposed Keystone X-L pipeline, which would carry oilsands bitumen from Alberta to Texas.
He says people don’t understand that the oil will eventually end up in China, a country he calls one of the dirtiest on Earth.
