Calgary technology taps into Alberta’s ‘wasted’ lithium supply

A key mineral needed in most batteries is lithium and Alberta has plenty of it, but it's a notoriously difficult resource to access — at least until now. Sarah Offin has more on a new locally developed technology hoping to diversify Alberta’s energy industry.

A chemical engineer out of the University of Calgary is piloting what she says is a more efficient, cleaner lithium extraction process.
