Woman seriously injured after crash on Highway 11 north of Saskatoon

SASKATOON – Traffic is flowing again on Highway 11 north of Saskatoon after three vehicle crash shut down the northbound lanes for several hours on Thursday.

Warman RCMP were called to the crash between a marked Corman Park police SUV and a Saturn on Highway 11 near Warman Road (Grid 3052) just around 8:30 a.m.

Witnesses have told Mounties the police SUV was traveling northbound at highway speed when the Saturn attempted to cross the highway from a grid road.

The jaws-of-life had to be used to extract the driver of the Saturn, a 21-year-old woman. She was rushed to hospital with what police say are serious injuries.

The police officer was taken to hospital in stable condition.

A third vehicle was also involved in the crash. The driver of the SUV was not injured.

Traffic was diverted around the area while police carried out their investigation with the help of a traffic analyst.
