WATCH: New video shows chaos during rescue after Asiana Airline crash

TORONTO – Newly released video from the scene of the fatal Asiana Airlines crash shows emergency workers were reportedly warned that a victim was on the ground near the jet before she was run over by a fire truck minutes later.

Obtained by CBS News, the footage came from a camera mounted on a firefighter’s helmet and on a fire truck at the scene last summer shortly after Asiana Airlines Flight 214 crash landed on the runway at San Francisco International Airport .

On July 6, the Boeing 777 crashed after approaching low and slow. The accident that left three Chinese teenage girls dead and more than 150 injured.

One of the three fatalities was Ye Meng Yuan.

In the newly released footage, emergency workers  are at the chaotic scene after the crash and spraying foam on the plane. According to CBS News, 50 minutes into the helmet footage and video from the fire truck show several emergency personnel warning others that a victim was on the ground near the plane.

The video then shows a firefighter directing the truck around the victim who investigators believe was Ye Meng Yuan.

Firefighters assumed Ye was dead on the scene and moved on to battle the blaze of the burning aircraft.

About 15 minutes later, the same truck ran over Ye and, minutes later, another truck also drove over her.

A coroner report last year confirmed the  16-year-old Chinese student survived the crash but died after she was struck twice – once by a fire rig spraying foam and again 11 minutes later by a second truck that was turning around to fetch water.

Officials have previously said Ye was accidentally run over due to being partially hidden by the foam being sprayed on the plane.

The San Francisco fire department tells CBS News it will not comment on an ongoing investigation into the crash.

CBS said the video was provided by a source close to the family of Ye and said the video was important because it could be key to proving who was responsible for their daughter’s death.

Ye Meng Yuan’s family is suing the city of San Francisco, claiming the rescuers were reckless and poorly trained.
