Residential snow clearing continues as more snow falls on Calgary

CALGARY – The City of Calgary says it will continue clearing snow from residential roadways despite another dump of snow on Monday.

The city announced its Snow Action plan last week, and began removing massive snow piles from side streets, instead of just plowing the snow.

Officials say they will work to remove new snow from Priority 1 and 2 routes, but contracted crews will continue to work on the newly announced residential snow clearing.

Meanwhile, the city has confirmed it is not expecting to call a snow route parking ban.

“The reason why is because we are getting five to ten centimetres of snow, and we are not expecting it to accumulate because air and road temps are quite warm,” says the city’s Julie Yepishina- Geller. “And for the rest of the week, we are expecting warmer temperatures.”
