TORONTO — Paula Abdul sued a tanning company Thursday claiming she was burned during a session two years ago.
The singer and former American Idol judge filed a personal injury lawsuit Thursday in Los Angeles Superior Court against UVASUN West Inc.
Abdul, 51, alleges she suffered burns during a treatment at the L.A. salon in January 2012.

The lawsuit claims an infrared body wrap treatment was applied “negligently, carelessly and recklessly” and resulted in “severe and painful” burns all over her body. She alleges she suffered a second- or third-degree burn on her left thigh.

Two years later, Abdul claims she continues to suffer pain and suffering, including “great mental, physical and nervous strain.”
The lawsuit seeks more than $25,000 for medical expenses and loss of earning potential.
None of the allegations have been proven in court.
