TORONTO — Country singer LeAnn Rimes and her husband, actor Eddie Cibrian, were among those who witnessed a plane crash in Aspen, Colorado on Sunday that killed one person.

The 31-year-old singer, who has been in the resort town since Dec. 30 for a snowboarding holiday with Cibrian, 40, and his sons Mason, 10, and Jake, 6, tweeted: “So sad! Horrible plane crash we just saw happen at the Aspen airport.”

Authorities said the Canadian-made plane, carrying three people on a flight from Tuscon, Arizona that originated in Mexico, crashed upon landing. One person was killed and two suffered injuries.

“Heavy heart for sure for the pilot, passengers & their loved ones,” Rimes later tweeted. “Very sad for everyone involved. Life can change in a blink of an eye.”

Also using social media to give an account of the crash was former Saturday Night Live star Kevin Nealon.

“Horrible plane crash here at Aspen airport. Exploded into flames as it was landing. I think it was a private jet,” read his first tweet.

Nealon, 60, followed with several tweets in which he said emergency crews were on the scene within minutes and the airport had shut down. “I think I’ll drive back to L.A. after seeing that,” he tweeted.
