Police search for more evidence in Bridgeland death

CALGARY – Search and rescue teams spent hours combing through an area in Bridgeland on Wednesday, scouring the area for evidence in the city’s latest homicide.

Family of 19-year-old Anthony Fernandez reported him missing on Boxing Day. The next day, police discovered his body in a car parked in an alley in the 1200 block of Colgrove Ave. N.E.

Investigators believe he may have been dead inside the vehicle for several days before he was found.

A candlelit vigil for Fernandez will be held at at 6 p.m. on  Saturday, January 5th 2014 at Olympic Plaza. Attendees are asked to bring red and blue candles or wear red and blue clothing.
