CALGARY – Police say a New Year’s Eve shooting in Acadia appears to be targeted.
Emergency Crews arrived at a home in the 400 block of Athlone Road S.E. just after 10 p.m.
A man in his early 30’s sustained serious, potentially life-threatening injuries to his torso after being shot while in his backyard.
Police say only the victim and his girlfriend were the only one’s at home at the time, and believe he and the offender knew each other.
Neighbours say the young couple have a baby, and have lived at the home for about a year and a half.
They say there were lots of people coming and going from the house, but thought it was related to the homeowner’s landscaping company.
Officers have identified a potential suspect, but have not yet taken anyone into custody.
