TORONTO – Demi Lovato, the Sam Roberts Band and Serena Ryder are among the performers in Niagara Falls, Ont. for ET Canada’s annual New Year’s Eve special — which will also feature a special appearance by Celine Dion.
The celebration begins at 10 p.m on Global but the event, at Queen Victoria Park between Clifton Hill and Murray Street, is free to attend. The city is putting on fireworks at 8:45 p.m and midnight.
“60,000 people in the park, millions of people watching at home, this is where it’s at,” said Niagara Falls mayor Jim Diodati. “New York has Times Square, Canada has Niagara Falls.”

The city is recommending vehicles use Stanley Avenue, Macleod Road and Highway 420 to get into the city. There are also several parking lots around the area.
ET Canada is bringing out the stars.
“We have Celine Dion for the first time ever on a New Year’s Eve show here in Canada joining us from Las Vegas at the Coliseum,” said ET Canada executive producer Sholeh Fabbri. “And we also have Our Lady Peace in Vancouver joining us. For the first time we’re going across the country.”

Ryder said she is anxious to take the stage. “I just get really excited before big shows like this because everyone’s in it for something bigger,” she said. “It’s not just a show about playing music, it’s a show about celebrating the new year and the entire year and it’s such a big celebration for everybody, like people at home watching and people who are out partying.”
The show is headlined by Lovato, the 21-year-old singer, actress and former The X Factor judge, and hosted by ET Canada’s Cheryl Hickey, Rick Campanelli and Sangita Patel.
