The eastbound commute across Toronto was hampered for hours on Sunday after a collision involving a tractor trailer closed the eastbound collectors lanes.
At around 9 a.m., Ontario Provincial Police said that a transport truck had jackknifed on the highway in the collectors lanes near Leslie Street.
They issued a warning on Twitter that the lanes would be closed for five hours to deal with the aftermath.
At around 2:21 a.m., police reported that all of the lanes had reopened but 30 minutes later a second tweet announced that the road remained closed.
Police say that at around 6 p.m., all lanes had reopened.
According to police, the driver of the truck, a 29-year-old man from Calgary, has been charged with impaired driving.
