ST. JOHN’S, N.L. – Newfoundland and Labrador’s Amber Alert program is joining with Facebook to create a special page on the social networking site.
The RCMP says the page will contain information on abducted children for subscribers when Amber Alerts are issue by police in the province.
Amber Alerts are issued when a child under 18 is abducted and police believe the child is in danger.
They usually contain a description of the child or the abductor or such details as the vehicle used in an abduction.
Amber Alert Facebook pages have been previously launched in Ontario, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island.
