A Vancouver woman is hoping to spread a little holiday cheer by helping to provide some of the necessities of life to those down on their luck.
For years, Adilia Monteiro and her family have been reaching out to residents of the Downtown Eastside.

This year, with the help of friends and local businesses, Monteiro raised hundreds of dollars to provide more than 500 meals to those less fortunate.
Monteiro says she hopes her efforts will inspire others to also give their time over the holidays.
