Safeway replacing in-store Starbucks with Tim Hortons

A Winnipeg Safeway is brewing something new to help kick-start your mornings.

Transcona’s Kildare Safeway, along with three others in Alberta, area all part of a pilot project, which will see Starbucks kiosks replaced with Tim Hortons.

The move to change coffee shops was made to add variety after Safeway officials realized several in-store Starbucks were located very close to the Seattle based coffee maker’s free standing stores.

Currently, 162 out of 213 Safeway locations across Western Canada are home to Starbucks kiosks.
