A paramedic killed in the line of duty in northern Alberta was laid to rest on Monday.
Hundreds turned out for the funeral services for John O’Mahony in the community of McLennan. His colleagues lined the street in front of the church as the hearse pulled up.
O’Mahony was killed last week, as he transported a patient. A trailer came off a semi truck and hit his ambulance.
O’Mahony was a long time volunteer paramedic and also spent decades as a teacher in the area.
