McLeese Lake resident dies in trailer fire: Community has no fire protection

File / Global News

A resident of McLeese Lake, location north of Williams Lake, has died in an early morning trailer fire.

RCMP say they were called to a home at about 2:30 a.m. and found the home fully engulfed in flames.

There is currently no fire protection or fire service for the rural McLeese Lake residents so the RCMP were unable to immediately search the home due to the heat.

Early this afternoon, the RCMP discovered a body within the burnt structure.  Police say there is no indication of foul play at this time and the identity of the deceased has not been confirmed.

The RCMP are continuing their investigation in these early stages to determine the cause of the fire as well as the identity of the deceased.
