A portion of the Galloping Goose Trail in Saanich, B.C., was closed on Tuesday morning due to what police called an “ongoing investigation.”
The trail was closed from McKenzie Avenue to Grange Road but was reopened early Tuesday afternoon.
“The closure was to allow for a search of the surrounding area for potential evidence in relation to a Major Crimes Unit investigation,” Saanich police said in a statement.

“A preliminary search, with the assistance of K9, was conducted, but due to lack of daylight the decision was made to hold the area overnight.”
It is unclear at this time what police are investigating, and Saanich officers said more information may be provided as necessary going forward.
