A collision near Wetaskiwin on Friday claimed the life of a 29-year-old man.
RCMP said it happened after 3 p.m. on Highway 13 near Range Road 261, west of Wetaskiwin, Alta.
Officers said the man was a passenger in a car, that was struck by a half-ton pickup truck.
Police said their initial investigation shows the car was traveling on Range Road 261 when it entered Highway 13 and was struck by the oncoming pickup.
Emergency crews worked on the man, however he died at scene.
RCMP have identified the man as a resident of Maskwacis.
The driver of the car was taken by STARS to hospital with serious injuries. Another passenger in the car and the driver of the pickup were taken to hospital by ambulance.
The highway was closed for several hour while police conducted their investigation.
