Man seriously injured in daytime shooting on Surrey-Delta border

RCMP are investigating what appears to be a targeted gangland-style shooting in Surrey that's left one man with serious injuries. Troy Charles has the latest from Scott Road and 84th Avenue. A warning: some of the video might be disturbing – Feb 2, 2024

One person was hurt in a shooting on the SurreyDelta border Friday afternoon.

Surrey RCMP said officers were called to Scott Road near 84 Avenue around 1:30 p.m. to reports of shots fired.

Responding officers found a man with serious gunshot injuries, police said.

BC Emergency Health Services said it deployed two ambulances and transported one person to hospital.

Police said they are investigating a possible link between the attack and a torched vehicle reported on 179 Street near 99 Avenue about half an hour afterward.

Investigators have not said whether the incident is thought to be linked to the B.C. gang conflict.

Road closures were in effect northbound from 84 Avenue to 82 Avenue and eastbound 120 Street to 122 Street, and police asked people to avoid the area.
