TORONTO — Rock group Goo Goo Dolls are heading out on a cross-Canada tour this winter — and bringing some Canadian talent along with them.

The band behind hits like “Iris” and “Slide” will kick off the tour Feb. 17 at Montreal’s Olympia Theatre and wrap it up on March 6 at the Hard Rock Casino in Vancouver.

In between are shows in Kingston, London, Hamilton, Oshawa, Thunder Bay, Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Edmonton, Calgary, Lethbridge, and Victoria.

PEI singer Tim Chaisson will open for the Goo Goo Dolls in some cities and Ottawa-based band Autumn Cannon will open for the band in others.

Goo Goo Dolls released their 10th studio album, Magnetic, last June. The group consists of John Rzeznik, Robby Takac and Mike Malinin.

The Dolls have sold millions of albums, earned four Grammy nominations and had five songs at the top of the charts in Canada.
