Officers in Toronto have launched a homicide investigation after a man was fatally stabbed early Saturday morning.
Toronto police said they were called to Lake Shore Boulevard and Bathurst Street just before 2 a.m. for reports of a stabbing.
Police said a man in his 50s was found with stab wounds and rushed to a local hospital.
A 25-year-old man was arrested, investigators said.
The City of Toronto said the stabbing took place at a shelter it funds on Lake Shore Boulevard, operated by a third party.

A spokesperson said the city was “aware of the unfortunate news of a fatal stabbing” at a shelter. They said they would not comment further while the police investigation was underway.
The shelter operator’s chief executive officer says both the person who died and the person arrested were residents at the 74-bed men’s shelter.
Homes First CEO Patricia Mueller says no staff were injured.
Mueller says she does not anticipate any “major relocation” of people staying at the shelter during the investigation.
“We are very upset with this horrible incident and this horrible outcome,” she said.
Toronto police told Global News homicide detectives were unlikely to comment on the incident Saturday.
No further information, including what may have happened before the stabbing, was shared by the force.
