RCMP investigators have ruled out any foul play, saying Wood was the lone occupant of his cell and the overdose was self-inflicted.

It is the second inmate death in as many months at Drumheller Institution, a medium-security prison 140 kilometres northeast of Calgary.

Billy-Joe Crow Shoe, 32, died Sept. 21 after correctional officers found him in his cell. It’s not immediately known how Crow Shoe died.
