Kingston Frontenacs tap Troy Mann for head coaching job

The Kingston Frontenacs wasted little time in announcing the team’s next head coach.

Hot on the heels of parting ways with head coach and former NHL player Luca Caputi, the team announced via social media on Tuesday that Troy Mann had been hired to fill the big chair.

Mann comes to Kingston a seasoned coach who was let go from the AHL’s Belleville Senators in February.

Across five seasons as head coach in Belleville, Mann compiled a record of 164-118-28 while making the playoffs just once.

He also coached previously in the ECHL with the Columbia Inferno and before ascending to the AHL as an assistant coach with the Hershey Bears, before eventually becoming the head coach after coaching the ECHL’s Bakersfield Condors for one year.
