Charges laid in east London, Ont. crash that killed pedestrian

Charges have been laid in relation to a fatal hit and run that took place on Sept. 19, police say.

Early that morning, emergency crews responded to the intersection of Clarke Road and Dundas Street after a pedestrian was found with critical injuries believed to be caused by a motor vehicle collision.

Police say the pedestrian, now identified as James Francis Feeley, 36, of London, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead on scene.

Through the course of the investigation, police learned of an outstanding vehicle that was involved in the collision. The other vehicle involved remained at the scene for questioning.

As a result of the investigation, a 37-year-old Londoner has been charged with the following;

  • Fail to stop at the scene of an accident causing death; and,
  • Dangerous operation of a conveyance causing death.

The accused is scheduled to appear in London court on Nov. 28, in relation to the charges
