Verses Festival of Words is at it again! We are bringing together poetic artists of all kinds, page poets and storytellers, singer-songwriters and improvisers, to celebrate the power of the spoken word. This year’s festival combines poetry with music inspired by a rich cross-section of genres, from hip hop to folk, experimental music to 80’s glam rock. Featured artists at the festival include Rudy Fransisco, Kimmortal, Desiree Dawson, Titilope Sonuga, Savage Family, Veda Hille and Joseph Dandurand. Verses Festival partners include the Native Hip Hop Festival, Stage to Page and Mashed Poetics who bring exciting and diverse approaches to spoken word performance to our festival stages. Poets from across the country will be joining us at the festival to compete in the Canadian Individual Poetry Slam. There will be three nights of head-to-head poetry bouts to see who will be named the 2022 champion.
