National Online Journalist, Viral/Trends
Meaghan Wray is a national viral and lifestyle reporter with an interest in pop culture, health and beauty, and women’s issues.
She got her foot in the journalism door with a culture internship at FLARE.com before moving into the role of Digital Editor at Hello! Canada, where she covered anything and everything celebrity and royalty. Her freelance work – from voicey essays covering diet culture and self-esteem to service pieces on hot new beauty trends – has appeared in the National Post, Chatelaine, FLARE.com, LocalLove, elephant journal and more.
Meaghan earned a bachelor’s degree in Global Development and Spanish Language at Queen’s University, followed by a post-graduate diploma in Journalism at Humber College. In between, she spent a year studying Latin American history, politics and economics at Universidad Andina Simón Bolívar in Quito, where she completed original research on the impact of Western values on a group of children growing up under European missionary care.
Her interest in global relations took her from South America to South Korea, where she taught English as a Second Language by day and reported on everything from life as an expatriate to the best Korean beauty hacks by night.
When she’s not working, Meaghan is an amateur makeup artist, an avid cyclist (the stationary kind), a huge reality TV show watcher and she can’t get enough of British crime dramas.
