WEST KELOWNA — The pro-pot activists who are trying to have B.C’s laws changed admit they’re likely going to fall short of their goal, but not in Premier Christy Clark’s riding of Westside Kelowna.
Sensible BC has been collecting signatures for the past three months — needing at least 10 per cent of voters in the province’s 85 ridings.
Campaign leader, Dana Larsen, says although they’ve fallen short in some ridings, they’ve managed to collect more than enough votes in Clark’s riding.
He says the fact that more than 4,500 people in her riding have signed the petition, should send the premier a message.
“Well I hope that, being a former marijuana user herself, she will recognize that the war on cannabis users is really a failure, costing British Columbians a lot of money that they really can’t afford and British Columbians are ready for this law to change, says Larsen.
Sensible BC has until December 9 to collect the required signatures. Larsen says that if the campaign falls short, they will re-launch another one.
