LEDUC, Alta. – Two workers have been severely burned in an explosion at an industrial park south of Edmonton.

RCMP said the injured employees work for Clean Harbors, an industrial services and hazardous waste business in Leduc Industrial Park.

Police said there was a fire Tuesday morning which caused the explosion.

Leduc RCMP, Leduc EMS and fire crews immediately responded to the call.

The two workers were sent to hospital with severe burns but were in stable condition.

Alberta health and safety officers and RCMP were investigating. The fire is not believed to be suspicious.

Company officials were not immediately available for comment and the names of the injured workers have not been released.
