Construction worker injured after fall from scaffolding

CALGARY – A construction worker was rushed to hospital on Friday after he fell off some scaffolding, landing in a basement under construction.

It happened at around 9 a.m. in the 500 block of Quarry Park Blvd S.E.

The 30-year-old man was working on some scaffolding when he fell.

The scaffolding then came down on top of him.

He fell about 3 meters landing in the basement.

The fire department’s confined space rescue team was called in to bring the man to safety.

EMS found the man unconscious but breathing when they arrived, and rushed him to hospital in stable condition.

Occupational Health and Safety have been called to the scene.
