The results of a necropsy into the death of Pandora the pit bull are expected to be released today.
The pit bull was fatally stabbed last week by a man after the dog attacked his pug. He says he took out the knife only after he couldn’t separate the two in an on-leash area. The pit bull’s owner, Samantha Fairbridge, claims the pug, which was off-leash, sparked the confrontation and its owner went berserk.
The pit bull was on a leash.
The BC SPCA has confirmed the pit bull was stabbed three times. The necropsy is to determine if the pit bull suffered unnecessarily.
“Our role is to make sure pain was not inflicted on the dog unnecessarily,” says Lorie Chortyk, spokesperson for the BC SPCA.
The Vancouver Police have closed the file and will not be filing any charges of their own.
