A fire at a Maple Ridge mill is now under control.
There was a fire this morning in the dust silo at the Hammond Mill, but the mill’s internal fire suppression systems successfully put out the blaze.

The fire department has now left the scene.
There were no injuries or major damage in the blaze. Neighbours tell Global News they were ordered to evacuate their homes just after 6 a.m. this morning, and were allowed to return home around 8 a.m.
