More charges against owner of West Kelowna business with links to Hells Angels

Newcome, along with two full patch Hells Angels were charged in August 2012 following a raid at a West Kelowna business.

PEACHLAND — The charges are piling up against a Peachland man with links to the Hells Angels.

John Edward Newcombe, 44, is facing several charges following the execution of a search warrant at his Peachland residence on Saturday.

The search took place at a home in the 4200 block of Beach Avenue where police recovered a stolen vintage truck.

“In addition to the stolen Mercury pickup truck, police seized a number of items including three motorcycles with suspicious vehicle identification numbers, number punches, 44 grams of cocaine, 75 grams of psilocybin (mushrooms) and drug paraphernalia,” says Cst. Kris Clark.

Newcome, along with two full patch Hells Angels were charged in August 2012 following a raid at a West Kelowna business.

Police recovered about $750,000 in vehicles and machinery from Cycle Logic.

It was alleged the business was involved in stealing vehicles and modifying their identification numbers in order to sell them.

At the time, police said Cycle Logic was used by members of the Hells Angels and other biker gangs.

The matter is still before the courts but it appears that a plea bargain is in the works.

Newcome’s lawyer recently told Global Okanagan News that he’s in discussions with the Crown and the matter will probably be resolved without the need for a trial.

Following the police raid, the District of West Kelowna cancelled the business licence for Cycle Logic.

BC’s Civil Forfeiture Office recently filed a lawsuit seeking to confiscate the assets of Cycle Logic alleging they are the proceeds of crime.
