UPDATE: Sadly, Keian lost his battle with cancer on New Year’s Day.
Previous story:
Six-year-old Keian Blundell really wants to be an RCMP officer when he grows up.
We first met Keian back in July when he had been fighting leukemia for just over a year.
He has spent much of his short life in and out of BC Children’s Hospital and his dad Ryan says every time they would drive by the RCMP headquarters, Keian would ask about it.
On Thursday, he got the chance to feel like an RCMP officer when he was presented with the smallest, most accurate Red Serge uniform in the world. It is perfect in every detail.
Keian is now part of ‘Troop 15’.
“There was a lot of time and effort, people put in their own time and used bits and pieces of uniforms that have been cast off or no longer useful,” says Staff Sgt. Major John Buis.
Keian says he wants to become a Mountie because he wants to help people.
