Another typhoon rages in the Pacific

TORONTO – Typhoon Francisco passed by the western side of the small island of Guam on Thursday.

The typhoon had maximum sustained winds of 157 km/h.Tropical storm warnings had been issued for the island.

Though the storm was moving to the north-northeast, it is expected to take a turn to the northwest.

That track could take it to the southern part of Japan.

Japan is still cleaning up following Typhoon Wipha which struck the nation earlier in the week.
