A warrant has been issued for a Vancouver Island man who was arrested on firearms offenses earlier this year in Saanich.
The Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit B.C. says 30-year-old Kevin Wayne Jones has been charged with possession of a firearm; possession of a firearm without a license; improper storage of a firearm; and possession of a controlled substance.
Police say Jones was arrested on April 9, 2013 after a search of his home in the 4000-block of Saanich Road resulted in the seizure of one pound of dried marijuana; a 9 mm handgun with the serial number filed off; ammunition and a firearms magazine.
He is described as being 5’8” tall, 160 lbs, with brown hair and blue eyes.
Police say they do not know Jones’ whereabouts and are not sure if he currently has a firearm. Anyone who spots him is warned to be cautious and call 9-1-1 or Crimestoppers immediately.
