TORONTO – Durham police are investigating after 250 bronze vases were stolen from burial sites at the Mount Lawn Memorial Gardens in Whitby.
Investigators say they were taken between Aug. 26 and Sept. 11.

Police say each vase is individually owned and some family members of the deceased buried at the location may not know if they have been victimized.
At $150 per vase, the total theft amounts to more than $37,000.
No suspect information is available and police are asking anyone with information to contact them.
