TORONTO – The new cargo ship that was scheduled to arrive at the International Space Station on Sept. 22 will arrive no later than Sept. 28, NASA announced on Monday.

Orbital Science’s new Cygnus cargo ship was scheduled to deliver 589 kg of cargo, including food and clothing, to the Expedition 37 crew aboard the ISS. However, the rendezvous was aborted less than six hours before it was due to arrive due to a “data discrepancy.”

Orbital Sciences reported that its team has developed and tested a software fix for the data format mismatch that caused the postponement.

However, due to the time constraints, managers from NASA and Orbital Sciences decided to postpone the approach until after the launch and arrival of new crew members of Expedition 37/38 on Wednesday.
