An updated version of the RCMP code of conduct may include references to preventing harassment.
Proposed changes are now being circulated to members of the national police force, in the first update in 25 years.
The RCMP has been dealing with allegations of sexual harassment since 2011.
Former media relations officer Corporal Catherine Galliford went public with claims of being repeatedly harassed.
Several other lawsuits have been filed.
The revised code of conduct would also include new expectations around the use of force and how to deal with the public.
