TORONTO – The hot and humid weather in southern Ontario may also bring severe thunderstorms to the region.
As temperatures soared to 30 C in Toronto, Environment Canada issued a severe thunderstorm watch Wednesday for much of southern Ontario, including the GTA.
The watch extends from Windsor to Cornwall and extends north to Peterborough.
There could be heavy downpours and strong winds associated with these storms.
Meanwhile a humidex advisory is still in place for the GTA and southern Ontario.
Remember to keep an eye on the sky. If threatening weather approaches, seek shelter immediately.
A watch is issued when conditions are favourable for severe weather. A warning is when hazardous weather is imminent or occurring.
