Shortly after the gates of the PNE opened at 11 a.m. Saturday, a power outage shut down half the fairgrounds, including the rides.
The power outage lasted for about 1.5 hours as crews worked to restore electricity.

Luckily no one was stuck on any of the rides, but the outage caused a headache for both fair-goers and staff.
PNE spokesperson Laura Balance said although the outage was an inconvenience for many, crews worked quickly to restore the issue.
The cause of the power outage is not known.
