Edmonton man charged in fatal crash near Winnipeg

WINNIPEG — RCMP have charged an Edmonton man with dangerous driving causing death in the crash that killed Winnipegger Derek Bossuyt, 21.

Randolf Enns, 33, was driving a westbound semi-trailer truck that police say crossed the centre line of the Trans-Canada Highway in Headingley, Man., and hit the eastbound pickup truck that Bossuyt was driving.

Bossuyt was coming out of the John Blumberg Golf Course just west of Winnipeg when the crash happened shortly before 9:30 p.m. Monday.

Enns, who is also charged with resisting a police officer, is being held in custody and is to appear in court on Wednesday morning.

Police continue to investigate the crash.

Friends and family have created a roadside vigil for Bossuyt at the crash site where he died.
