Alcohol a factor in serious crash near Strathmore

CALGARY – RCMP say alcohol is believed to be involved in a two car crash near Strathmore that seriously injured one person.

Emergency crews rushed to a collision on the Trans-Canada Highway west of Strathmore just before Midnight on Wednesday.

A Ford F-150 was allegedly traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes when it collided head-on with a Dodge Caravan.

The driver of the Dodge Caravan was airlifted to hospital with serious, potentially life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Ford, a 46-year-old man, was arrested on scene.

RCMP say charges are pending.
