Several parts of southern and western Manitoba were under severe weather advisories Monday afternoon: a number of tornado watches and warnings have since ended. The City of Winnipeg was pelted by hail as the storm passed through.
A severe thunderstorm warning was in place for the City of Winnipeg; Environment Canada says “In the Red River Valley including Winnipeg…Partially clearing skies could set the stage for severe thunderstorm development later this afternoon as a trough of low pressure moves through the area.” Severe thunderstorm warnings were also in place for Beausejour, Portage, Headingley, Selkirk, Gimli, Steinbach and other areas.
