CALGARY- Parks Canada has issued a special avalanche warning for Banff, Kootenay and Yoho national parks.
With a rising avalanche danger, it’s warning outdoor enthusiasts to stay clear of avalanche areas and to stay within the boundaries of ski resorts.
Right now the avalanche danger is rated at moderate, but it’s expected to climb as the weather warms up.
Popular hiking trails where the avalanche danger could increase this spring include the Plain of Six Glaciers, Sulphur Mountain, Castle Mountain, Fairview, Lake Agnes and Corey Pass.
