The jury reached the verdict after two days of deliberations.

This was McLachlan’s second trial on the charge – she was acquitted in 2011, but the Crown appealed it and won.

McLachlan has been released until her sentencing hearing on Wednesday.

Some witnesses testified in the first trial that they saw McLachlan straddle the student in a hot tub during a school trip to Banff, Alta., in May 1994.
