Joffrey Reynolds, convicted batterer and former Calgary Stampeders football star, has been arrested again.

The Calgary Police Service confirmed late Tuesday that Reynolds, 33, was taken into custody earlier in the day for breeching the conditions of a no-contact order.

The CFL franchise’s all-time leading rusher was on bail awaiting sentencing for assaulting his ex-girlfriend and unlawfully being in her downtown condo last July. Reynolds was convicted by a provincial court judge in February.

Court previously heard Reynolds’ ex-girlfriend Kaitlin (Katy) Ward testify that he kicked her in the back of the leg following a verbal spat at a Calgary bar.

Ward also testified she returned home later that night to find the hulking running back in her bed.

A Crown prosecutor said Reynolds tackled Ward, pulled her hair, straddled and choked her.

The Texas-born Reynolds faces deportation once any sentence resulting from his criminal conviction is finished.

A traffic commissioner issued a warrant for Reynolds last week for failing to appear in court to face a charge of driving while unauthorized.

In eight seasons with the Stampeders, Reynolds racked up 9,213 rushing yards — placing him seventh on the Canadian Football League’s all-time career rushing list.

His production tailed off in the 2011 season and he lost his starting gig to Canadian tailback Jon Cornish. Reynolds failed to sign on with another team last year.
